Overview

We have a Senior Theatre Practitioner position that has become available.

Working days are Monday to Friday. Shifts are 08:00 to 21:00 for long days, 37.5 hours per week. Flexible days. Full details will be discussed at interview.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise theatre support workers, nursing, midwifery, ODP students, junior theatre staff, return-to-practice nurses and adaptation students.
  • Take charge of the theatre during the absence of the Team Leader.
  • Participate in discussions about care delivery and evaluation with other MDT members.
  • Provide clinical support to peers.
  • Manage and organise the operative list and clinical care.
  • Communicate changes efficiently within the operating department to all multidisciplinary theatre team members.
  • Undertake safe and efficient transfer of patients to other hospitals.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust policies and guidelines for drug ordering, storage, use and correct clinical practices.
  • Ensure awareness of Risk Management, Clinical Governance, Fire, Health & Safety, COSHH and Infection control policies.
  • Report accidents, incidents or complaints to Team Leader or Theatre Manager promptly and complete the relevant documentation.
