Overview

The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team delivering primary healthcare nursing including elements of occupational health. The role involves working alongside the Band 7 Practice Nurse and civilian Senior Medical Officer within the medical facility and will be a focal point for primary health care nursing issues within the area of practice. You must be able to work unsupervised and provide nursing care to the MF population at risk. The post holder will hold an individual caseload and, through consultation, identify, assess, and diagnose patients with complex health needs, minor injuries, minor illnesses, and specific diseases within their level of competence. You will provide specialist high-quality, person-centred care that always considers safety, privacy and dignity, using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidence-based. You will be responsible for delivering appropriate treatment, screening, and advice to patients within your professional competence and in accordance with Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) clinical guidelines and protocols.

Role details

This is a part-time role consisting of 18.5 hours per week in the following schedule:

• Wednesday 08:00-12:00
• Thursday 08:00-16:30 (with 1 hour lunch break – unpaid)
• Friday 08:00-15:30 (half hour lunch break – unpaid)
