A healthcare organization in St Albans is seeking a full-time Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join their busy Pre-operative Assessment department. Responsibilities include undertaking pre-operative assessments and ensuring patients are prepared for surgery. The ideal candidate will have suitable nursing qualifications and a commitment to clinical excellence.

The opportunity has arisen for a Full-time Band 6 Nurse to join the team of a busy Pre-operative Assessment department at St Albans City Hospital.
The hours are 4 x 8-6 pm Monday to Friday.

This is a secondment role.
The role of the band 6 nurse is to undertake pre-operative assessment of patients awaiting elective surgery across a wide range of specialities, ensuring patients are prepared physically & psychologically for surgery whilst minimising short notice cancellations.

The post holder must demonstrate evidence of personal development, possess good communication skills, have knowledge & experience in the care of the surgical patient, and have good leadership & time management skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
