Other Information

Children in care Nurses undertake statutory health assessments of children and young people in care as per statutory requirement by Birmingham Children’s Trust and this is dependent on children’s age. Children under 5 years of age have 6‑monthly review health assessments and children over 5 years of age have once yearly review. There is also a specialist service provision for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (New to Country Clinic). Due to the increasing number of children in care placed in Birmingham from other Local Authorities, to meet the demands of review health assessment completion, there are two dedicated Out of Area Nurses (Children in care placed in Birmingham).
