Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Anaesthetic Practitioner / Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our dedicated perioperative team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centred care throughout the anaesthetic, surgical, and post-operative recovery phases. This is a dynamic role that requires a proactive and compassionate professional who is committed to patient safety and teamwork. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including anaesthetists, surgeons, and nurses, to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the anaesthetic room and all necessary equipment and drugs for a wide range of surgical procedures.
  • Perform pre-operative checks and assessments, ensuring patient identity, consent, and safety protocols are followed.
  • Provide skilled assistance to the anaesthetist during the administration of anaesthesia, including induction and airway management.
  • Continuously monitor the patient's physiological parameters and react promptly to any changes in their condition.
Qualifications
  • Registration with the HCPC for ODPs or NMC for Nurses, with a qualification in Anaesthetic Practice.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a perioperative environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
