Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality mammography examinations for both screening and symptomatic patients in line with NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) standards.
  • Ensure compliance with IR(ME)R (Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations) and local protocols.
  • Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-focused care, maintaining dignity and privacy.
  • Accurately position patients, adapting technique for those with additional needs or mobility issues.
  • Monitor and maintain image quality assurance (QA) standards.
  • Work collaboratively with radiologists, breast care nurses, radiographers, and clerical staff to deliver seamless services.
  • Support the triple assessment process (imaging, clinical examination, and biopsy).
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in line with NHS policies.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings as appropriate.
  • Undertake continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain HCPC registration and NHSBSP accreditation.
