We are currently recruiting dynamic and compassionate Nurses to support our COVID-19 and flu vaccination autumn/winter programme across Haringey and Islington boroughs.

Whittington NHS Trust, with their outstanding reputation in safe, personal, coordinated care for their local community, is seeking a Band 5 Vaccination Bank Nurse to join their committed team in a flexible and rewarding role.

Known for being one of the safest hospitals in England, Whittington Health provides expert care for more than 500,000 local people and is valued by its local community. Alongside the main Whittington Hospital, they have 30 community locations in the north London boroughs of Islington and Haringey.

The Role

As a key member of the vaccination team, you will play a vital role in delivering COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations safely and efficiently to care home residents and housebound patients.

This is a community-based role requiring independent, lone working. You will be expected to visit approximately 15–20 patient homes per day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer vaccinations in accordance with clinical guidelines.
  • Prepare and manage sterile vaccination equipment.
  • Maintain accurate patient and vaccine records using the RAVS (Record a Vaccination System)
  • Provide clear information to patients about the vaccines and address any concerns.
  • Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols.
Skills & Requirements
  • Up-to-date Anaphylaxis and Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
  • Strong attention to detail for precise vaccine delivery and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with vulnerable or anxious patients.
  • Ability to carry cool bag, vaccination and consumables while walking house to house.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced community setting.
  • Proficient in using navigation apps and basic IT systems.
  • Prior vaccination experience desirable.
