We’re pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our specialised Stem Cell Transplant Unit. This role is ideal for someone looking to deepen their experience in Haematology and Oncology nursing within a supportive and expert team environment. You’ll be delivering high‑quality, holistic care to patients undergoing complex treatments, including stem cell transplants. The unit operates to the highest standards under JACIE‑FACT, BSBMT, and CQC guidance, and we’re looking for someone who can uphold these while continuing to grow and develop professionally.

Key Duties:
  • Act as the named nurse for individualised patient care using a holistic approach
  • Provide expert nursing care for patients with oncological and haematological needs
  • Maintain accurate, timely and legally compliant clinical records
  • Promote safe practice, professional conduct and multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Support orientation and training of new staff and contribute to departmental projects
  • Achieve and maintain clinical competencies, including chemotherapy administration
  • Participate in research, audits and quality improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to infection prevention, safeguarding and health and safety policies
Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Acute hospital experience
  • Excellent communication, decision‑making and organisation skills
  • Willingness to undertake further haematology training
  • Flexible and team‑oriented attitude
  • Understanding of JACIE‑FACT standards and CAR‑T cell therapy
Desirable:
  • Chemotherapy administration certification (e.g. UKONS SACT, ENB 237/998)
  • Haematology or stem cell transplant experience
  • Familiarity with CVADs and phlebotomy
