Job Title: Locum Dietitian

Banding: Band 5/6

Working Hours: Full-time

Rate: £19-28 per hour

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Locum Dietitian to join the team at a hospital in Chesterfield. This is a full-time, onsite locum position, ideal for someone looking to cover an inpatient caseload. The role involves providing nutritional assessments and interventions to inpatients, supporting their recovery and improving overall health outcomes. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive high-quality, individualized nutritional care, as well as monitoring and adjusting care plans as needed. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced hospital environment while contributing to patient care.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for providing nutritional assessments and care for inpatients, developing and implementing personalized nutrition plans. This includes advising patients and healthcare teams on appropriate dietary support, as well as managing enteral feeding and nutritional support where required. You will collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the nutritional needs of patients are met and contribute to discharge planning. Maintaining accurate patient records, adhering to clinical guidelines, and ensuring high standards of practice will also be key aspects of the role. This position requires you to be onsite to provide direct patient care.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working with inpatient caseloads in a hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, including enteral feeding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).
