Band 4 Senior Phlebotomist (Part Time)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior band 4 Phlebotomist within the Phlebotomy department in our Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic senior Phlebotomist to support the work of our friendly but busy Phlebotomy department based across two sites at Queen's and King George Hospitals. The successful candidate will join our team as a senior member of staff in bleeding patients on our ward areas and outpatient area.

We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic senior Phlebotomist with a passion and willingness to help support both patients and colleagues. You would be expected to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the department to achieve a high standard of care, good customer care focus, pleasant and understanding to members of the public. Good punctual attendance and a flexible approach to work are required.

This job would suit a local person with previous experience as a senior Phlebotomist in a healthcare setting.

You should demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail. Satisfactory performance in mathematics and English at secondary school level or equivalent is required. All work will be carried out under the supervision of qualified staff.

Main duties of the job

Provide high quality phlebotomy service meeting the needs and requirements of users. Supervise phlebotomy staff working in the Trust and liaise with senior laboratory staff as required.

  • NVQ level 3 plus additional training to diploma level equivalent, or equivalent through short courses
