Job summary

A major healthcare provider in the UK is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to conduct clinical assessments and assist in various clinics. The role requires carrying out technical procedures and supporting the multidisciplinary team. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Ophthalmology would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.

Overview

To deliver effectively, as part of a team and individually where applicable, specific Ophthalmic clinical assessments including assessment of visual acuity, intraocular pressure, visual fields and OCT testing. To assist MDT in clinics e.g. Intravitreal injection service, minor operation list.

Location and Schedule

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ophthalmic technician to work in the ophthalmic department primarily at Edgware Community Hospital with some sessions at Barnet Hospital. Both sites are part of the Royal Free London ophthalmology service. We see patients with a number of ophthalmology conditions, including medical retina and glaucoma. You may be expected to work at other ophthalmic clinics within the trust if needed.

Experience and Training

Previous experience in Ophthalmology would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
