About our Business

Base Location : Medway Power Station, Kent

Salary : £50,100 - £75,100 + performance related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

Reporting to the Lead Balance of Plant Engineer, the Balance of Plant Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical assets including Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs), steam systems, cooling towers and pumps.

  • Your main responsibilities will include;
  • Focusing on the mechanical assets of the power station you will assist in delivery of an effective outage strategy and management of projects
  • Outage planning and outage delivery
  • Management of works to ensure a safe working environment
  • Delivery of compliance with legislation and industry best practice including compliance with the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) and statutory inspections.
What do I need?
  • Mechanical engineering knowledge, familiar with the types of systems and equipment used in power generation.
  • Experience within a similar role in the electricity, or a equivalent engineering industry and experience of working with HRSGs and PSSR would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential and ability to successfully manage teams.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline or similar.
  • Have good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and regulations in relation to mechanical systems.
  • A passion for safety and successful delivery against key stakeholder requirements.
