Baker Location: Whipsnade Zoo Salary: £16,500 per year Contract Type: Part-Time, Permanent, Minimum 24 hours per week (typical 3-day working pattern)

We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Baker to join our team at Whipsnade Zoo. This is a hands‑on role where you will take pride in preparing fresh, high‑quality home bakes to delight our visitors. As part of our dedicated catering team, you will play a key role in producing a range of delicious baked goods for sale across the site.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and bake a wide range of high‑quality products, including pastries, cakes, and speciality items.
  • Ensure all baked goods are consistently fresh, visually appealing, and meet company standards.
  • Accurately follow recipes, portioning, and baking schedules to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Manage ingredient stocks, monitor usage, and minimise waste.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised baking environment in line with health & safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Assist with menu development by creating new baked items and seasonal offerings.
  • Keep accurate records of production, inventory, and any special dietary requirements.
