What You Will Do

• Collaborate with the London‑based platform team on developing new features and infrastructure.
• Take ownership of backend systems, focusing on robust architecture and scalable database design.
• Build backend services using Python, SQL, FastAPI, and Pydantic.
• Contribute to product development while working on challenging technical problems.
• Continuously improve system reliability, performance, and maintainability.

Ideal Candidate Background

• 3–8 years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL, with experience designing and maintaining complex backend systems.
• Experience with infrastructure and database design, ensuring robust and scalable architectures.
• Prior experience working on technically complex products, preferably at startups or high‑performance computing companies.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, curiosity, and passion for building high‑quality software.

Preferred

• Experience with lower‑level languages such as C or Rust.
• Familiarity with TypeScript and modern backend frameworks (FastAPI, Pydantic).
• Previous work at companies known for complex backend or AI systems, such as Meta, Palantir, gaming platforms, or AI/ML startups.
• Passionate about learning and developing technical expertise in your spare time.
