Typhoon Avionic Supervisor

Morson Talent are recruiting for an experienced Avionics Supervisor to work for our prestigious client based at RAF Coningsby.
Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed maintenance, inspection and supervision activities on an aircraft or aircraft components, assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the SOW / Work package using the relevant approved technical information.
- Resolve faults and maintenance issues, including configuration management.
- Undertake and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on an aircraft or components which may include Aircraft Ground Handling, flight servicing, aircraft role changes, AD embodiments, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system tests.
- Supervise team to ensure maintenance is undertaken to schedule; highlight issues and escalate as required. Report on any impact to the wider programme.
- Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities and take direction appropriately.
- Ensure staff are sufficiently competent and approved for the maintenance tasks allocated to them.
- Maintain personal & team task authorisation for working on an aircraft or components in accordance with AMC requirements.
- Meet agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term through the supervision of others; progress reporting to management.
- Undertake support tasks within the Aircraft or component maintenance facility to maintain compliance with the MOE and Functionally Mandated Procedures (FMPs).
- Provide guidance and leadership to the team; develop team members using formal assessment processes (e.g., PDRs), and support training requests including on-the-job training.
- Demonstrate sound communication and people management skills to exchange complex information.
- Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for found faults during maintenance.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Manage Part 145 activities by setting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes.
- Prioritise activities across teams to maximise efficiency and represent the Maintenance Manager at management reviews when necessary.
- Assess escalated issues for impact on Continuing Airworthiness and generate effective resolutions or sponsor escalation to management as appropriate.
- Ensure Part 145 activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained; ensure activities are performed by suitably qualified personnel.
- Integrate Part 145 activity within the business and engage key stakeholders at all stages.
- Provide support and guidance to teams and ensure compliance with procedure/standards, and propose changes as required.
- Promote Safety Management System practices and proactive analysis, mitigation and management of hazards within Part 145 teams.
- Ensure governance and assurance alignment; support audits and implement improvements to address non-compliance and monitor effectiveness.
- Demonstrate understanding of Continuing Airworthiness regulatory framework; implement regulatory changes within Part 145 activities; ensure compliance with ITAR, EaPW, ISO, etc.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements through contract reviews and appropriate implementation into Part 145 activities.
Individual Requirements
- Essential / Desirable skills: Experienced and competent leader; broad and in-depth product knowledge; ability to understand relationships with interfacing areas; ensure compliance with risk assessments and SHE policies.
- If approved as a designated assessor, undertake OJT activities, qualified by an OJT Training and Assessor course or equivalent.
- Qualifications: Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship (Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent). City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. Aircraft platform training (On a/c requirement).
- Typhoon Q and Typhoon Maintenance experience essential. Depth Maintenance documentation (ESS/IMS and toolsets) knowledge essential.
- Knowledge of quality procedures, processes and specifications; MAOS MIL Pt145 experience essential.
- Knowledge of Resolve and raising System Enquiries, essential.
Working Hours
ON BASE
- 4 days per week, Mon-Thu. Nightshift pattern: Days 07:30–16:00 and Nights 16:00–02:00.
- Hours per week: 37.00 (not including lunch breaks). Start/finish times to be agreed with local Line Management.
- Lunch break: 30 minutes between 12:30–13:00 (or as agreed). 30 mins deducted daily by time management system.
- Based on workload, local management may request more or fewer hours within this contract.
- Position involves shift work.
