AV Project Engineer
Derby - Field Based
£35K per annum plus overtime
Our client is seeking an experienced AV Project Engineer to join their team. Supporting clients around the Derby area you will be supporting with a number of installation Audio Visual projects. You will:
- Carry out the installation of audiovisual systems on site
- Organise and prepare all required materials and equipment ahead of site installations
- Complete first and second fix activities, including structured cabling and AV hardware installation
- Install and connect AV equipment in line with system designs, schematics, and technical drawings
- Apply strong technical knowledge and attention to detail to identify potential issues early and take appropriate corrective action
- Ensure all work is delivered in line with internal company quality standards
- Accurately interpret technical documentation to guarantee correct and precise on-site installation, seeking guidance where necessary
- Maintain engineer vehicles with appropriate stock levels of tools and consumables
- Take responsibility for the sign-out and collection process of equipment and materials required for site work
- Support rack assembly and pre-installation system staging prior to site deployment
- Provide assistance with escalated support issues that require additional engineering input
- Liaise directly with manufacturers to resolve technical queries or issues when instructed
- Where required, supervise and guide junior team members or subcontractors during on‑site activities on smaller projects
- Provide consistent updates on the status and progress of assigned tasks
- Ensure all required documentation is accurately completed, signed where necessary, and returned to the appropriate stakeholders
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a minimum 3 years installing AV equipment
- Have a good level of experience on‑site implementing AV installations
- Have certification on CTS AV Essentials, Avixa Elements of System Fabrication & Crestron Engineers Course
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be a strong team player
- Have a good level of understanding of technical documentation
- Have a good level of understanding around MS Office software
- Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Have excellent time management
- Hold a UK Driving License
- Hold no known barriers preventing government and military level security vetting processes
- Be willing to work away overnight anywhere across the UK or internationally
- Must be able to lift and carry items up to 40kg over short distances and use specialist equipment if available
