You’ll support the commissioning and maintenance of low and medium voltage variable speed drives (LV & MV VSDs) across major customer sites such as Jaguar Land Rover, Leyland Trucks, and Mercedes‑AMG High Performance Powertrains. You’ll be based within one hour of our Warrington office and spend most of your time visiting customer sites across the North West and Midlands.

This is not a graduate scheme. We’re looking for someone who has completed a recognised apprenticeship and has 1‑2 years of hands‑on experience working as a technician or craftsperson. Someone with the right base who wants to grow further.

What you’ll do

  • Provide sound engineering advice as required across a spectrum of engineering problems
  • Undertake engineering design changes to existing systems
  • Assist in new systems build (design/testing)
  • Build long‑term relationships with key customers through regular on‑site support.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rota (approx. 1 week in 4) once fully trained and certified.
  • Attend manufacturer training courses in Vienna (2‑week blocks) leading to global MV VSD certification.
  • Travel 3 to 4 days a week across the region, with occasional overnight stays and rare international travel (e.g. Ireland, Austria).
What we’re looking for
  • Completed apprenticeship in electrical or control engineering.
  • City & Guilds, HNC/HND or NVQ in a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in a technician‑level role.
  • Confident communicator who builds trust with customers.
  • Willing to travel extensively and manage own schedule on the road.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.

This is a field‑based role with a company car and home working flexibility when not on customer site. You’ll report to our North West team, supporting well‑known industrial customers and gaining technical and commercial experience to shape your long‑term career with us.

What we offer you

Competitive salary & bonus scheme, 28 days annual leave + public holidays, holiday buy & sell programme, pension scheme, employee share ownership programme, health & wellbeing support options, gym flex, internal mobility opportunities, discounts on shopping & dining, learning portal and more.
