Job summary

A non-profit organization in Tayside is seeking female Autism Practitioners to provide support to individuals with autism. You will empower them through various activities and assist with daily living tasks, always promoting independence. Ideal candidates are outgoing, flexible, and enjoy working as part of a team. This is a full-time position that requires shift work, including weekends and evenings, with a starting pay of £12.60 per hour.

Qualifications

Working Hours : We have flexibility in contract sizes with options available for successful candidates

Pay Scale :

Starting at £12.60 per hour rising to £12.82 after probation. Opportunity to progress to £13.30 at your own pace.

Sleepover Rate - 100.80

Please note that due to the needs of our supported individuals in this service there is a requirement for candidates to be female.

At Scottish Autism our Autism Practitioners do more than support—they empower. You’ll be supporting three wonderful women who enjoy a wide range of activities including dancing, karaoke, baking & cooking, day‑trips, bowling, arts and crafts and more! We are currently looking for female Autism Practitioners to join our team, so if you’re someone who loves getting involved and having fun this could be the perfect role for you.

Autism Practitioners work as part of a team to :

  • Continually develop and implement personalised support plans for supported people
  • Build positive relationships with supported people
  • Work in partnership with supported people, their families, support network and health professionals
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure people’s life goals and aspirations are at the centre of their support.

On a day‑to‑day basis Autism Practitioners enable people to :

  • Make informed choices using their preferred communication methods
  • Take part in their chosen activities, attending local events, shopping, going on holiday etc. Practitioners can expect to go out and about with supported individuals to places of interest.
  • Complete all necessary tasks which enable them to maintain their homes, including paying bills and supporting them to make the decisions that matter to them.
  • Live as independently as possible with support, with various life skills and may include support with personal care.

We’re especially keen to hear from those who can be flexible in their approach while following established support plans. This role suits someone who is outgoing, proactive and able to build positive connections.

As part of your role you will be required to undertake shift work including weekends and evenings. A full UK driving licence is desirable for this role, though not essential. Drivers help us offer more opportunities for supported individuals to engage in their communities.
