Job description
Overview

Lead paediatric audiology assessment and management of infants and children aged 6 months and older. Work in a hybrid 50/50 Inner/Outer London delivery model with compressed working hours and rotation between community and hospital sites.


Responsibilities


  • Conduct independent audiological clinics for infants and children referred to the community clinic at The Northern Health Centre.

  • Provide clinical support for doctor‑led paediatric clinics, including routine audiological test battery – pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, play audiometry, acoustic reflexes, oto‑acoustic emissions and speech testing.

  • Interpret complex test results, communicate findings to parents, families, and multidisciplinary team members, and initiate appropriate referrals.

  • Manage day‑to‑day equipment maintenance, calibration and fault reporting, ensuring adherence to departmental protocols.

  • Collaborate with Medical, Technical and Scientific staff to develop and implement new clinical tests and procedures.

  • Perform evening and weekend clinics as required and rotate to other community/hospital sites following service needs.


Qualifications


  • Minimum 1 year of audiology experience, with AHCS registration or working towards it.

  • Qualified in paediatric audiology – full training is preferable but full paediatric training and support will be provided.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within professional guidelines and to progress towards a Band 6 role.
