AV Field Service Technician - LED / Digital Signage

Location: London & the South (occasional national travel)

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 + overtime

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

On-Call: Weekend rota (£50 per day + hourly call-out)

The Role

As an AV Field Service Technician, you'll play a key part in maintaining and supporting large‑scale LED and digital signage installations across London and the South.

Working closely with the Digital Maintenance Manager and helpdesk support team, you'll be responsible for:

  • Responding to service calls within agreed SLAs (4, 12, or 72 hours depending on priority)
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance at outdoor digital display sites
  • Cleaning, inspecting, and fault‑finding on electrical and digital components
  • Identifying and resolving electrical issues quickly to minimise downtime
  • Highlighting any Health & Safety concerns and ensuring safe working practices at all times
  • Managing tools, spares, and stock levels in your vehicle
  • Creating accurate service reports and communicating clearly with internal teams
  • Occasionally working at height and at varied times to meet project demands

This is a hands‑on, outdoors, and highly varied role—perfect for someone who enjoys problem‑solving and working independently while still being part of a supportive team.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience in electrical or electronic preventative maintenance
  • Strong fault‑finding and component replacement skills
  • Confident communicator (written and spoken)
  • Someone who is committed to long‑term development, not just short‑term progression
  • A strong focus on Health & Safety
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to manage stock and equipment
  • Comfortable working at height and occasionally during unsociable hours
  • Full, clean UK driving licence is essential
  • Basic IT capability (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
Stock & Inventory Responsibilities
  • Monitoring site‑specific spare parts
  • Producing stock reports and highlighting reorder levels
  • Coordinating the return of faulty components to head office or manufacturers
Working Pattern
  • Mixture of day and night shifts, depending on project needs
  • Overtime available (paid at standard rate)
  • Participation in a weekend on‑call rota
