Overview

My client, a market leading, innovative Environmental Consultancy based, is searching for an Associate Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to manage and grow a Water Team based in Bedford. Hybrid working is available.

It is essential that applicants have a strong academic background in a relevant discipline and have achieved or are close to achieving Chartered status. You will also have vast experience working for a UK based Consultancy specialising in flood risk, hydrology, hydraulic modelling, flood alleviation, drainage or river engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a new team based in Bedford; manage projects and mentor team members.
• Check, complete and amend technical work spanning flood risk, drainage, hydraulic modelling, nutrient neutrality, flood alleviation and river restoration schemes across the UK.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities with support from the team.
• Oversee projects including Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Alleviation Schemes, River Restoration and Natural Habitat Management, Pollution Incidents and Nutrient Neutrality, Drainage Strategies and designs, Hydrological and Hydraulic Modelling, Bid Proposals and Tenders, Natural Flood Management and Renewable Energy Projects.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Strong academic background in a relevant discipline.
• Chartered status or near Chartered status.
• Experience working for a UK-based Consultancy specialising in flood risk, hydrology, hydraulic modelling, flood alleviation, drainage or river engineering.
• Drive and determination to develop new business opportunities with the support of the team.
• Experience managing projects, promoting company services and mentoring team members.
