Where you'll work

Real Estate is a key focus of our business. From investment and management of existing assets to major development and regeneration schemes, about 60% of our lawyers operate in the sector across a wide range of disciplines including investment, finance, development, construction, asset management, planning, environmental and dispute resolution. We are ranked by The Lawyer as having one of the UK's Top 15 Real Estate practices overall.

What you will be doing

Work will focus on all aspects of commercial property for domestic and overseas investors (with a particular focus on clients from the Middle East, Malaysia and the US), developers, occupiers, government and local authorities, and lenders. Our practice covers all asset types and all sectors of the economy. You will be working as part of our national team so there will be opportunities to support colleagues in our other UK offices. As you will be part of the wider real estate practice, you will also have opportunities to work alongside teams delivering projects in the living sector such as single and multi-family housing, PBSA and senior living.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Investment property acquisition due diligence and sales.
  • Landlord side asset management.
  • Acting for occupiers on new leasing and management of their existing leases.
  • Acting for developers including in respect of site assembly and due diligence.
  • Acting for both borrowers and lenders in respect of the preparation of or review of Certificates of Title and attending to relating property CPs.
  • Building and maintaining and where possible initiating effective client relationships.
  • Active participation in and, where appropriate leading, marketing initiatives.
  • Running own files.
  • Ensuring files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures.
  • Participating in firm-wide and departmental training sessions.

What you will need
