About the ASF London Team

The ASF London team originates and executes sponsor-driven and leveraged corporate acquisition finance transactions in the UK&I, DACH, Benelux, and Scandinavia, while supporting broader EMEA origination efforts from London. The team also originates and executes Private Equity Sponsor Finance transactions across Western Europe.

Role Overview

An Associate in ASF London works under the supervision of a senior deal team member, supporting the presentation of the bank's debt capabilities to financial sponsors and corporates. The role involves supporting deal teams in identifying financial sponsor-driven and leveraged corporate transactions, enabling Natixis to underwrite and syndicate leveraged loans, High Yield bonds, and Private Equity Sponsor Finance loans.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Originate, arrange, and execute leveraged finance transactions mainly for PE sponsors in the UK and Northern Europe (UK, Benelux, Nordics, Germany, Switzerland), with an originate-to-distribute and product-agnostic approach (Term Loans, High Yield Bonds).
  2. Identify deal opportunities by recognizing potential transactions and engaging with Sponsor Coverage to initiate contact with interested sponsors.
  3. Manage the pitching process, including initial transaction analysis, defining Natixis’ financing views, and preparing marketing materials to accurately showcase Natixis’ capabilities.
  4. Discuss and negotiate commercial terms with the syndication team. Support the deal team in preparing presentations, memos, and materials for approval from BizCom and Credit Committee.
  5. Maintain relationships with financial sponsors to agree on commercial points, manage deal dynamics, and promote Natixis as the financing bank.
  6. Evaluate new opportunities focusing on credit and underwriting risks.
  7. Manage internal credit processes and support transaction presentations to committees.
  8. Monitor and review portfolio exposures proactively.
  9. Foster a client-centric culture, provide excellent service, and facilitate cross-selling with other business lines.
  10. Negotiate term sheets and legal documentation with sponsors and legal counsel for syndicated loans and high yield bonds.
  11. Coordinate with various Natixis teams to execute transactions, including Financial Sponsors Coverage, Syndications, Sales & Trading, and others.
  12. Train and develop junior team members.
