Salary: £31,236 - £37,694 per annum - AC1

The Role:

We are looking for an Associate Lecturer - Pastoral to join our FE team, working specifically with students on our construction and building services programmes. You'll be a key part of their journey helping them stay motivated, overcome challenges, and develop the skills, confidence, and resilience to progress into the workplace or higher education.

What you'll be doing:
  • Acting as the first point of contact for pastoral and academic support for construction students.
  • Holding regular tutorials to track progress, set targets, and celebrate successes.
  • Encouraging good attendance, punctuality, and professional standards in line with industry expectations.
  • Supporting students to overcome personal or academic barriers to learning.
  • Liaising with lecturers, employers, and external support services to ensure joined-up support.
  • Promoting employability, personal development, and positive behaviours that reflect construction industry values.
What we're looking for:
  • o Experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral setting (knowledge of the construction sector or trades training is desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong organisational skills to keep track of progress and actions for a busy caseload.
