Role – Associate Landscape Architect

Location – Edinburgh

Salary – £45‑55k DOE

Our client, an established multidisciplinary consultancy, is looking for an Associate Landscape Architect to join a dynamic and expanding team. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects that shape both the built and natural environment with creative, sustainable landscape solutions.

As an Associate Landscape Architect, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality landscape design and planning services from concept through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to landscape design projects, including preliminary design, concept development, detailed design, and technical documentation.
  • Prepare landscape proposals that support planning submissions and planning policy requirements.
  • Produce drawings, schedules, planting plans, hard and soft landscape specifications, and visual materials.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including planners, architects, ecologists, and engineers—to integrate landscape considerations into broader project design.
  • Engage with clients, statutory consultees, and stakeholders throughout project stages.
  • Provide technical advice and design input in line with sustainable, context‑sensitive design principles.
About you
  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture.
  • Proven experience in landscape design within a professional consultancy or similar environment.
  • A Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).
  • Strong technical skills in design software.
  • Ability to produce high‑quality design drawings and clear technical reports.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of UK planning policy and guidance relevant to landscape and urban design would be advantageous.
  • A passion for sustainable design, environmental stewardship, and collaborative problem solving.
