Job summary

A UK engineering consultancy is seeking an Associate Engineer for their London Land Development team. You will lead the delivery of private-sector land development infrastructure and drainage design, ensuring compliance and producing approval-ready engineering solutions. The role requires a Degree/Master’s Level in Civil Engineering and substantial experience in the Land Development Sector. Strong technical leadership and proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D are essential. This position offers an opportunity to mentor early-career engineers and contribute significantly to project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Considerable years of experience in delivering projects in the Land Development Sector.
  • Proven team leadership and experience in other standards (DMRB, Eurocodes etc.) desirable.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide multidisciplinary technical oversight.
  • Manage approvals with Local Authorities, LLFAs, and water companies.

Job description

We are looking to hire for an Associate Engineer in our London Land Development team.

Role Purpose

Lead the delivery of UK private-sector land development infrastructure and drainage design, producing commercially optimised, compliant, and approval-ready engineering solutions. Provide technical coordination and mentor early-career engineers to strengthen our internal capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead S38/S278 highways design (road geometry, pavement, access, junctions)
  • Lead drainage and SuDS strategy + detailed design (surface, foul, sewer networks)
  • Oversee earthworks optimisation and cut/fill balance
  • Coordinate utilities and service design, including diversions and easements
  • Produce/assure design reports (FRA, Drainage/SuDS, Infrastructure/Transport Statements)
  • Manage approvals with Local Authorities, LLFAs, and water companies
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide multidisciplinary technical oversight
  • Support bids, client scoping, and design risk/constructability decisions
Essential
  • Qualification:
    • Degree/Master’s Level Civil Engineer
  • Experience:
