Job Description



  • Partner with leadership to develop business plans at the practice group and department level; oversee implementation, monitor progress, and recommend proactive measures to meet or exceed goals.

  • Monitor financial performance of groups; collaborate with leadership to address issues and identify opportunities.

  • Analyze pipeline and demand metrics; manage capacity planning in coordination with talent management.

  • Collect, analyze, and distill operational, financial, and market data to provide actionable recommendations to practice and department leaders.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, business development, talent management, HR, knowledge management, lateral integration, and professional development teams.

  • Serve as primary contact for practice leadership on administrative and operational issues, escalating as needed.

  • Facilitate long-term planning and growth strategies, including tracking hours, rates, revenues, headcount, and client budgets.

  • Organize partner meetings, set agendas, and follow up on action items.

  • Prepare presentations and reports for practice group and firm leadership meetings.

  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (realization, utilization, cash flow, etc.).

  • Support adoption of practice management tools and contribute to competitive intelligence studies.

  • Assist in identifying growth opportunities and client expansion initiatives in partnership with business development.

  • Manage high-priority projects, provide status updates to stakeholders, and prepare internal communications.

  • Other duties as assigned.


The Successful Applicant


Required



  • Bachelor's degree (business, finance, accounting, mathematics, or related field).

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years at a senior management level, ideally in a law firm, professional services, consulting, or financial institution.

  • Strong track record supporting senior executives.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related business applications.

  • Willingness to work extended hours and travel as required.


Preferred



  • Law firm, banking, or professional services experience.

  • Prior supervisory experience.
