Associate Director of Finance

Loughborough Students' Union (LSU) is seeking an experienced finance professional to join our Senior Leadership Team as Associate Director of Finance at an exciting point in our development.

Overview

This part‑time role (22 hours per week, 0.6 FTE) offers the opportunity to provide strategic financial leadership within a values‑led, student‑focused organisation. As Associate Director of Finance you will work closely with the CEO, COO, senior colleagues and Trustees to ensure strong financial governance, long‑term sustainability and high‑quality management information that supports confident decision‑making.

In addition to strategic input you will lead and develop a small finance team and act as a trusted adviser at senior and Board level. You will bring professional expertise, sound judgement and a collaborative approach, helping to strengthen financial controls, improve systems and processes, and support colleagues across the organisation to manage resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic financial leadership to the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees.
  • Collaborate with CEO, COO and senior colleagues to ensure strong financial governance and long‑term sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain high‑quality management information for confident decision‑making.
  • Lead and develop a small finance team, fostering professional growth and effective performance.
  • Adopt a collaborative approach to strengthen financial controls, improve systems and processes.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior management and the Board on financial matters.
Remuneration and Benefits

Pay scale 11, point 37 ( £46,952 – £51,288 per annum, pro‑rata for part‑time). Offers at a pay point appropriate to the skills and experience of the successful candidate. Appointments before 1 April are eligible for an annual increment.
