Overview

An exciting opportunity for a senior nurse leader to join the International & Private Care Directorate at our world-class children\'s hospital. We are seeking an ambitious, talented and compassionate team player to contribute to the leadership of the directorate and to uphold exceptional quality, safety and patient experience standards.

The postholder will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and will have accountability for the operational performance of the directorate. They will provide professional and clinical nursing leadership, advice and development, and contribute to Trust-wide and national projects.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional and clinical nursing leadership, advice and development for the Directorate and contribute to Trust-wide and national projects.
  • Hold accountability for the operational performance of the International & Private Care Directorate and ensure high-quality clinical care standards across the Directorate, with a focus on dignity and respect for children.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, management and operational delivery of high-quality clinical care standards across the Directorate.
  • Work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to assure the Executive Team and Trust Board that robust governance and performance management systems are in place to deliver high-quality child and family-centred care and services.
  • Provide strong, visible leadership and act as a positive role model; support the delivery of excellent nursing care across the hospital.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director International, Clinical Director I&PC and Deputy Director I&PC to implement nursing strategy and ensure alignment with Trust values and priorities.
  • Engage with the nursing workforce team to prioritise recruitment and retention and contribute to the Nursing Strategy, Safe in our Hands, to achieve joy at work.
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture by participating in networks and initiatives that support a representative workforce.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Significant experience at a senior nursing level in a relevant children\'s in-patient environment.
  • Strong leadership, staff management and professional/operational delivery of high-quality clinical care standards in line with Trust values.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish credibility at all levels.
  • Experience at a senior operational level in a private hospital or NHS private patient unit is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the nursing workforce team to prioritise recruitment and retention strategies.
