As an Associate Chartered Building Surveyor, you will lead and mentor a talented group of surveyors, shape the delivery of diverse and challenging projects, and play a key role in driving the continued growth of the business. The Associate Chartered Building Surveyor's Role You will collaborate across disciplines, contributing to the delivery of innovative solutions that support the successful completion of projects across multiple sectors. With regular client exposure, you will lead and coordinate project teams in line with the 1 Team ethos, developing your technical knowledge while offering guidance and mentorship to others within the business. A key part of your role will involve developing new workstreams and client relationships, supported by both innovative thinking and the strong reputation the team has built through effective project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-contract advice on construction, contracts, and cost matters, including feasibility assessments
  • Conduct detailed inspections of existing buildings, diagnose defects, and prepare high-quality reports with recommendations for repair, maintenance, and refurbishment
  • Lead building surveying projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and client expectations
  • Prepare specifications, manage tender processes, and produce contract documentation
  • Advise clients and junior team members on procurement strategies
  • Undertake contract administration, valuations, certification, and chair project meetings
  • Offer expert guidance on dilapidations, party wall matters, and wider property-related issues
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies
  • Lead and develop a small team of Building Surveyors, supporting their progression and managing ongoing work programmes
  • Mentor graduates and support them through their professional qualifications
  • Contribute to the development and growth of the team through strong client engagement and high-quality project delivery
