Job summary

A leading non-profit organization in Dundee is seeking an Assistant Support Worker to assist in providing support to individuals experiencing homelessness. This role involves delivering a high-quality program that promotes client choice and control, working within a psychologically informed and trauma-sensitive framework. The ideal candidate will demonstrate priority management, IT proficiency, and knowledge of support needs specific to vulnerable populations. This position offers 18 hours a week with flexible shifts.

Job description

Working hours: 18 hours per week (3 days a week Monday to Friday. Shift pattern 8am-2pm or 4pm to 10pm)

The Salvation Army in Dundee provides support for people who are experiencing homelessness and have multiple and complex needs. Our role is to provide a safe psychologically informed environment to stay and support individuals through a Harm Reduction approach, based on trauma informed practice

Candidate Criteria

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • The ability to prioritise their own workload.
  • Proficiency in a range of IT packages including Microsoft.
  • Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by homeless and vulnerable clients.
