ROLE OBJECTIVE

This role is central to upholding the Champneys brand through outstanding spa operations. As the spa experience sits at the core of our offering, we are looking for someone who leads by example, maintains exceptional standards, and supports ongoing departmental development.

With the wellness industry continually progressing, staying current with professional knowledge is essential. You will use your expertise to guide your team and ensure every guest receives exceptional, personalised care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Leadership
  • Support the day-to-day professional management of the Spa Department.
  • Create a positive, collaborative, and supportive team culture.
  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective operations aligned with departmental budgets.
  • Uphold and implement Champneys Platinum Service standards.
  • Maintain exceptional client care through consistent procedures and service delivery.
Staff Development & Management
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and full departmental / company inductions.
  • Deliver continuous training and development initiatives.
  • Guide team members to achieve treatment and retail targets.
  • Monitor performance, provide coaching, and address areas for improvement.
  • Manage team rotas and ensure fair distribution of workloads.
  • Promote a culture of ongoing learning, growth, and excellence.
Guest Experience
  • Plan and tailor guest stays to enhance overall satisfaction.
  • Maintain exceptional presentation and cleanliness throughout the department.
  • Handle complaints constructively and identify training opportunities.
  • Ensure treatment desk coverage and timely, accurate billing.
Health & Safety
  • Ensure all team members are fully trained in fire safety and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of hazardous substances and elevate concerns appropriately.
  • Ensure proper use of protective clothing and equipment.
  • Oversee appropriate training and certification for all treatments and classes.
  • Share responsibility for departmental health and safety, including first-aid supplies.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE
  • Strong knowledge of a wide range of spa treatments and products, with the ability to tailor them to individual client needs.
  • Clear understanding of team strengths, training needs, and appropriate task allocation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Fire, Health & Safety procedures, with the ability to ensure full team compliance.

Responsibilities may develop over time. Additional duties may be assigned in line with the needs of the role and business.

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday (with alternate weekend working)
  • Location: On-site / In person

Qualifications
  • Level 3 Beauty Qualification (required)
  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience
  • At least 1 year of management experience in a spa or similar environment (preferred)
