Overview

We are a high-achieving, inclusive secondary school in Harrow with a strong reputation for academic excellence and pastoral care. We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our dedicated safeguarding and wellbeing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and compassionate professional who is passionate about the safety, welfare and wellbeing of young people.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in all aspects of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Act as a first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring that students receive timely and effective support.
  • Work closely with staff, students, parents and external agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory guidance and school policies.
  • Deliver safeguarding training and guidance to colleagues across the school.
  • Contribute to the wider pastoral and inclusion work of the school.
Qualifications and experience
  • Experience of working with children or young people in an educational, social care or safeguarding role.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance (KCSIE).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and manage sensitive situations.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A genuine commitment to promoting the welfare and wellbeing of students.
