Assistant Retail Travel Manager

Base Salary to 35,000 Bonus and Great Benefits

Our client is a well established travel company who have recently launched a new tour operation focused on inclusive package holidays combining flights, hotels, shore excursions, cruises to the Greek Islands, Mediterranean and the Arabian Gulf.

They have recently opened a UK office and retail store in the Guildford and are now seeking to recruit an experienced assistant retail travel manager to help manage and lead a small team of travel consultants.

This is a pivotal role in supporting the leadership of our Guildford store. in driving sales, coaching the team, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring high service standards.

Candidates must have supervisory/team leader experience within the travel industry.

This is an office/store-based role operating over a 7 day period, working 5 days, with 2 days off per week.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to walk-in clients, phone and web leads.
  • Support the team in meeting and exceeding individual and store sales targets.
  • Assist in creating tailored travel itineraries, handling complex bookings, and resolving customer issues.
  • Monitor daily performance metrics and provide coaching and support to Retail Agents to improve results.
  • Coach and mentor Retail Agents to deliver excellent customer service and grow their destination knowledge and sales confidence.
  • Assist with rota planning, task delegation, and workflow organisation.
Experience Required
  • Previous experience in a senior sales or assistant manager role within the travel industry
  • Strong customer service and sales background.
  • Proven ability to coach and motivate teams to achieve sales and service excellence.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both customer-facing and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to support and inspire a team in a target-driven environment.
