Job summary

A regional civil rail contractor is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on Network Rail projects across London and the SE. The role offers excellent development opportunities. Candidates should be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying with ideally two years of postgraduate experience and an understanding of civil engineering projects. A regional civil rail contractor is seeking a Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on a number of Network Rail projects across London and the SE. This is an opportunity to progress with a growing contractor who offer excellent development opportunities.

Candidate Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management
  • Ideally 2 years postgraduate experience
  • Understanding of civil engineering / rail projects
Reactive Maintenance
  • Taking and interpreting briefs to develop a scope
  • Converting fault repair reports and turning these into measured bills which can be priced on NSR and bespoke schedules of rates
  • Completing / presenting estimates
  • Preparing qualifications / assumptions based on risk
  • Recording works on Employer’s live database
  • Final measures
  • Applications for payment
  • Monitoring performance against KPIs
  • Finalisation of accounts
Planned Preventative Maintenance Works
  • Assist in planning and prioritising
