This role sits within a residential development project and supports the commercial team in managing costs, procurement, and financial performance across multiple phases of construction.

Project Description

The project near Oxford consists of six phases, delivering a total of approximately 550 homes. The development is currently on Phase 3, with Phase 4 due to commence in June 2026.

Role Specification
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Preparing scopes of work and trade packages
  • Preparing selected tender lists for approval
  • Managing subcontract tendering processes
  • Recommending subcontractors on a level‑playing‑field basis, ensuring full scope coverage
  • Holding and minuting subcontract post‑tender and pre‑order meetings
  • Preparing subcontract documentation in line with contract procedures
  • Raising subcontractor payment applications
  • Forecasting and agreeing design variations
  • Producing subcontractor instruction and variation reports
  • Agreeing final accounts with subcontractors
  • Assisting with monthly cost reports
  • Attending design team and subcontractor progress meetings
  • Drafting contractual correspondence when required
  • Supporting the Project Manager with financial implications of site decisions
  • Countersigning site instructions
Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience within a developer or main contractor environment
  • Site‑based experience
  • Relevant educational background in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Working towards or undertaking a professional qualification
