Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location

Stansted

To support the Quantity Surveyor for the below commercial duties in the Asset Intelligence Business. To ensure adherence with all Galliford Try and Asset Intelligence process, principals and guidelines in all aspects.

What you will be doing:
  • Support the Quantity Surveyor in delivering commercial duties across the Asset Intelligence business.
  • Adhere to Galliford Try processes, principles, and guidelines in all aspects of work.
  • Assist in implementing the Senior Leadership Team’s business strategy and vision.
  • Collaborate effectively with operational, delivery, and design teams.
  • Drive continuous professional development through mentoring and support from senior team members.
  • Prepare accurate cash forecasts and analyse variances against budgets.
  • Implement techniques to maximise cash flow and minimise WIP.
  • Complete and submit client applications and spend profiles in line with commercial calendars.
  • Review and process subcontractor applications, ensuring compliance with payment regulations.
  • Conduct VCA reviews and support accurate CVR reporting for month-end governance.
  • Assist in negotiating and administering contracts, ensuring risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Manage client and supply chain notifications and ensure entitlement to additional cost/time.
  • Maintain accurate commercial registers and documentation for effective project mobilisation.
  • Attend client and supply chain meetings, supporting strong relationships and communication.
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives and uphold Galliford Try’s environmental and social responsibility goals.
About you:
  • Experience in commercial or quantity surveying within construction or infrastructure.
