Job description
Overview

As an Associate Practitioner you will be required to perform ECGs in line with departmental policies and to work as a supervised practitioner within the Cardiac Laboratory in a range of diagnostic tests. Duties will include a range of basic cardiac investigations and it is essential to have completed or be willing to work towards a foundation degree in Healthcare Science.

Cardiology Labs

The Cardiology Labs offers a wide range of diagnostic procedures including:

  • Full range of non‑invasive cardiac diagnostics, ECG and ambulatory monitoring
  • Echocardiography including TOE, Stress Echo, and 3D imaging
  • Physiologist‑led Tilt Table service
  • Physiologist‑led exercise service
  • Pacing implants and follow‑up
  • Cardiac catheterisation
Responsibilities
  • Record ECGs on the wards, in the department, in outpatients, accident and emergency and in the community.
  • Interpret ECGs proficiently.
  • Assist physiologists in Transoesophageal Echocardiography.
  • Assist in the clinical management of patients undergoing cardiac investigations within the Cardiology Labs.
  • Assist with Physiologist‑led Tilt Table service.
  • Assist with Physiologist‑led exercise service.
  • Conduct non‑complex ambulatory ECG analysis (reports to be countersigned by a Qualified Cardiac physiologist).
Qualifications

Applications are invited from a well‑motivated band 4 Associate Practitioner or suitably experienced band 3 assistant technical officer.
