A local children’s support organization in Dereham is seeking an Assistant Practitioner to support children with disabilities. The role involves developing and delivering creative intervention plans alongside social workers and occupational therapists, requiring a passion for helping children overcome barriers. Assistant Practitioner | 9215 | Permanent Contract |37 hours per week | £31,537 to £33,699 per annum | Grade G | West & Breckland
Our Children with Disabilities service provides support to children and young people with substantial and permanent disabilities 0-18 years of age. We have 3 teams which cover Norfolk and they are multi-disciplinary consisting of social workers, occupational therapists, occupational therapist assistant practitioners and assistant practitioners. We maintain strong links with internal and external partners to ensure a holistic response to the needs of the children and families we are working with.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for working with Children that have additional needs and who are driven to help children to overcome barriers that may be preventing successful engagement within their daily activities. The individual must also be motivated to work directly with children and their families across home and school settings.
The individual would work within a Social Care team alongside Social Workers and Occupational Therapists to develop and deliver intervention plans.
This job requires a creative approach to develop plans appropriate to the child’s level of ability and their interests. This job involves some tasks that are physically strenuous such as the moving of therapy equipment and direct therapeutic work with children.
The office base is Elizabeth House but the successful candidate would need to be prepared to travel anywhere within the West and Breckland locality and occasionally beyond this depending on requirements.
