About Our Client

A leading fresh produce business is looking for an Assistant Packhouse Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of their packhouse, as well as managing the wider team. This business is currently supplying high-quality produce into some of the UK's top Supermarkets.

The Role

You will have a variety of responsibilities ranging from ensuring all work is carried out and completed with full awareness of Health & Safety policies, managing maintenance schedules, assisting in the development of packing plans in order to optimise technology, and helping the Packhouse Manager to recruit and managing the wider team.

You will work closely with the Packhouse Manager to ensure that the Packhouse function is operating to maximal effectiveness. In line with this, you will be responsible for organising and scheduling the production, shifts, and staffing levels throughout the business.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience within Packhouse or Production, preferably with experience with fresh produce or Food
• You must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to identify and solve problems.
• It is also essential that you have awareness of Health & Safety, Food Safety & BRC regulations
• With the business and environment being incredibly busy throughout most of the year, flexibility is key for this role and you must be willing to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in.
