Job Description

Every day we engage with our customers through inspiring, impactful marketing. From show-stopping, above-the-line campaigns to the simplest POS designs in store, every step of the customer journey is crafted by our standout teams to build the very best experience, at every touchpoint. We explore the data and learn from our successes - constantly driving our Clothing & Home category to be the market leader. And we're just getting started. There's no better time to join our team as we continue to elevate our style, break boundaries and take the M&S brand to the next level.

As the Assistant Marketing Manager for Marks & Spencer, you hold a pivotal role in driving the brand's identity, values, and messaging to target audiences. You're tasked with implementing marketing activations to amplify brand awareness, customer engagement, and boost sales. Your role will be to complete all campaign and project deliverables (brief, execution, launch) to achieve the set objectives on time.

Whether assisting with a 360-degree TV campaign launch to boost fame and change brand perceptions, or a one-time activation that drives talkability and relevance with new audiences, you will help invent marketing plans for our overall brand and its sub-brands to increase market growth. As Assistant Marketing Manager in the M&S Clothing & Home Marketing team, you will play a crucial role in driving the vision to invent perceptions of our 140-year-old brand M&S today and beyond.

What you will be doing

  • Campaign & Brief Development: Support the Marketing Manager to build insight-led activity briefs, working closely with insights teams to leverage market research, consumer insight, and competitor analysis to develop impactful campaigns.
  • End-to-End Campaign Delivery: Lead the implementation of coordinated marketing campaigns across in-store, digital, social, print, events, and ATL media (including paid social, OOH, TV, VOD), ensuring a seamless and accurate customer journey.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with a wide range of internal collaborators including buying, merchandising, development, planning, production, creative, digital, Masterbrand, Plan A, retail and internal comms to deliver cohesive, on‑brand activations.
  • Product, Content & Shoot Leadership: Own product and styling alignment to campaign objectives, managing samples, content requirements, shoots, asset documentation, and post‑production, acting as the brand and product expert throughout.
  • Own campaign critical paths, documentation, and workflows using Monday.com and MAP. Manage creative feedback, asset management, and master lists. Ensure campaigns are delivered on time and meet high standards.
  • Partnerships & Performance Analysis: Collaborate with external agencies, partners, and collaborators to amplify brand reach, while tracking and analyzing brand performance through PIRs, reviewing effectiveness, efficiencies, and findings.

Who you are

  • Proven brand marketing experience: A Degree or comparable experience in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field is preferred. The role requires about 4+ years of experience in brand marketing, especially in retail, fashion, or consumer goods.
  • Compelling communicator & influencer: An outstanding communicator with strong influencing skills, confident working across all levels and galvanizing teams around shared goals.
  • Creative, brand‑led thinker: Demonstrates strong storytelling skills with a passion for creativity, brand elevation, and delivering work that resonates with modern consumer culture.
  • Strong organizer & leader: Experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with excellent planning skills, attention to detail, and accountability for high‑quality delivery.
  • Collaborative & solution‑focused: A proactive, development‑led great teammate who simplifies ways of working, removes blockers, and thrives in cross‑functional environments.
  • Agile, curious, and culturally plugged‑in. Flexible and hands‑on with a genuine affinity for retail, fashion, home, and beauty. Willing to travel when required and committed to staying ahead of digital marketing trends.
