Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the Financial Management team at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. The role involves taking the lead with one of our key Clinical Divisions and supporting the attainment of the Trust's financial performance. The post holder will assist the Deputy Divisional Business Advisor/Senior Financial Accountant in reporting the financial position of the Trust and will work as part of the team delivering a financial management service to clinical divisions. The role requires an understanding of accounting procedures related to budgetary control and adherence to defined policies and procedures. The post holder will plan their own work to meet timetables for information production.



Main duties

The post holder will assist the Deputy Divisional Business Advisor/Senior Financial Accountant in reporting the financial position of divisions within the Trust. They will assist with the production of standard divisional finance information following month end, including graphical presentations identifying trends and making future predictions. They will work for the Deputy Divisional Business Advisor/Senior Financial Accountant to provide Trust-wide information and ensure that divisional finances operate to a high degree of standardisation, undertaking investigations where necessary.
