Our client, an established international organisation undergoing significant commercial change and exciting systems transformation, is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team in Bury St Edmunds. This role offers the opportunity to support the Management Accountant while gaining valuable exposure to new ERP implementation and broader business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and year‑end financial statements.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, including interim budget updates.
  • Ensure accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial data.
  • Contribute to compliance across tax, PAYE, VAT, pensions, and insurance obligations.
  • Identify opportunities to drive cost efficiencies and improve financial processes.
  • Develop knowledge of financial systems and controls, contributing to ongoing improvements.
  • Act as the internal point of contact for IT queries, liaising with external IT consultants and support partners.
  • AAT qualified, studying, or planning to study ACCA or CIMA.
  • Strong Excel skills with good numerical and analytical ability.
  • Keen interest in IT systems or tech process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and an analytical, problem‑solving mindset.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new responsibilities.
  • Salary range: £32,000 - £35,000, depending on experience
