Job summary

A logistics and supply chain firm in Greater London is seeking a dedicated logistics professional to manage inventory control and distribution operations. The role involves working with inventory management systems, assisting in warehouse management, and ensuring smooth operational processes. Candidates should have a vocational background in logistics and practical experience in supply chain functions. A NATO Secret clearance is required. This position is based onsite in Northwood, UK.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years experience in logistics or inventory control.
  • Demonstrated experience in stock control, order picking, and shipping.
  • Familiarity with inventory software and high level of data entry accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties in Distribution Centre Management under direct supervision.
  • Maintain item and inventory management records.
  • Use real-time inventory software to move supplies as needed.
  • Assist in implementing mechanization in the distribution centre.

Skills

Skills
  • Secondary education or higher vocational training in a relevant discipline
  • A minimum of 1 – 3 years of professional experience in logistics, supply, warehouse operations, or inventory control
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory management, including stock control, order picking, packing, shipping, stock replenishment, and cycle counting
  • Experience managing shipping and receiving processes in an operational environment
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), including ERP-based systems (e.g. Oracle)
  • Experience working in accordance with safety procedures and equipment handling protocols
  • Valid forklift license, where operationally required
  • Higher vocational training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline, with post-qualification experience
  • Experience using logistics or inventory software, with a high level of data entry accuracy
  • Previous experience in a regulated, operational, or international organization
Activities
Distribution Centre Management
  • Under the direction of Head Enablement Branch, the incumbent will perform duties such as the following: Distribution Centre Management
  • Works with Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) basic processes and operations
  • Maintains item and inventory management records
  • Helps minimize bottlenecks and delays and the resulting impact on operating costs
  • Uses real‑time inventory software, with guidance, to move supplies where needed, when needed
  • Assists in resolving issues related to physical space management.
Inventory Management
  • Performs the receiving, ticketing, checking in and distributing of inventory items for a specific location
  • Produces basic inventory management reports for senior staff to reconcile the inventory balances
  • Tracks inventory information for a specific product group or location
  • Works with basic tasks of inventory management for a specific location
  • Follows processes to take stock, release inventory or return into processing; resolves discrepancies.
Logistics Management
  • Uses tools, with guidance, to forecast delivery times, determine costs and assess performance
  • Maintains records of all shipments and invoices using an established system
  • Assists in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity.
Supply Chain Management
  • Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain
  • Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities
  • Discusses considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions
  • Summarizes supply chain considerations for different types of products
  • Works with a specific part of supply chain management process.
Warehouse Management
  • Assists in implementing mechanization approaches and techniques in a distribution centre
  • Collects and translates the business requirements for specifications of warehouse management systems
  • Performs basic warehousing activities such as receiving, putting away, picking, packing and shipping merchandise
  • Maintains warehouse equipment and facilities on a regular basis
