Job description

We have an exciting new contract vacancy which will provide an outstanding opportunity to be involved with an award winning and expanding dairy business in the South-West.

Currently totalling 2500 cows across 9 grass-based units, we need an enthusiastic assistant to work alongside the Herdsmen on one of the units. Working on one of the units to develop a skill base and experience which will allow for promotion within the business allowing someone with the right skills to develop into a unit manager.

Being involved with one of the industries finest grass-based farmers and his unit managers, you will gain experience across the full spectrum of multi-site herd management. Superb facilities will include Waikato parlours, good handling facilities and feed area, new track networks, fencing and water troughs have all been installed, as the emphasis is on milk from forage.

Excellent stockmanship skills need to be combined with good grassland management and a desire to produce high quality milk from this low input system.

We can offer a good salary, regular time off and 2-bedroom on site accommodation. Family accommodation also available in village location with shops and schools.
