A public sector organization in the UK seeks an experienced HR Manager for the role of Assistant Head of Service (Business Partnering and Organisational Development), covering maternity leave for 12 months. Responsibilities include managing HR teams, supporting operational delivery, and enhancing stakeholder relationships. This hybrid position is based in Birmingham, requiring candidates to live locally and possess the right to work in the UK. We have an exciting new opportunity available for an experienced HR manager to join our HR team as our new Assistant Head of Service (Business Partnering and Organisational Development). This is a maternity cover role for 12 months. Reporting to our Head of HR, you will manage a team of experienced and passionate HR Business Partners, Organisational Development, Equal Pay Programme and Trust 2026/2026 whilst partnering the Trust Directors. You will be a key member of the HR team and be responsible for the operational delivery of services which underpin effective management, progression of cases and change programmes through our HR policies and procedures. You will proactively seek new opportunities to build relationships and provide professional advice to stakeholders in a blended way, both face to face and digital. You will work in a fast-paced environment providing value-added strategic support to operations in line with the Workforce Strategy and overall business objectives. This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Excellent communication skills as you'll be speaking to a diverse range of stakeholders and customers; Experienced manager with proven Business Partnering and Employee Relations skills; Ability to build effective collaborative working relationships with a range of stakeholders and team members; Experience of partnering other large, complex, and fast paced organisations; Be an effective self-starter, demonstrating excellent organisational skills coupled with the ability to prioritise your work to meet deadlines; while remaining focused in this fast-paced environment.
