A national environmental organization is seeking a confident Geomatics Analyst to work within the National Monitoring Survey team. This role focuses on delivering remote sensing products, especially airborne optical data, to support environmental monitoring. The ideal candidate will have strong GIS skills and relevant experience in remote sensing, contributing to various ecological projects. The position is full-time with flexibility for working patterns.
We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic Geomatics Analyst to join the National Monitoring Survey team. The role focuses on the delivery of remote sensing products, with emphasis on airborne optical data to support intertidal vegetation mapping, particularly saltmarsh extent and zonation. The work supports the Environment Agency’s statutory reporting under the Water Environment (Water Framework Directive) Regulations. You will work as part of a small, collaborative team to produce high-quality spatial data that supports environmental monitoring and reporting.
The team provides specialist services for Lidar, aerial photography and satellite data, delivering data to enable effective evidence use across the business.
The National Monitoring Survey team collaborates with National & Area teams to co-deliver monitoring requirements. The team provides specialist services to enable evidence-based decisions, including collection and analysis of Lidar, aerial photography and satellite data, with a focus on delivering high-quality data and integrated geo-information.
The National Monitoring Survey team is national, with locations at various sites; you can be based anywhere within working proximity to an Environment Agency office. Travel to the Geomatics team hub base in Bath may be required, and attendance at an EA office may be needed to meet team needs. The post is full-time, with flexibility for other patterns considered.
