A local government authority in Tottington seeks an Assistant Cook to maintain high food standards and supervise in the absence of the Cook Supervisor. Candidates should possess supervisory experience, strong food presentation skills, and customer care expertise. Relevant qualifications in Catering and a Basic Hygiene certificate are desirable. Working Hours : 22.5 hours Mon-Friday 9am-1.30pm
Contract Type : Permanent, Term Time only.
As an Assistant Cook you will work with a tight knit team to ensure that the food served is of a high standard. You would be responsible for ensuring that a quality catering service is maintained whilst covering for the absence of the Cook Supervisor. Supervisory experience within a commercial environment is essential together with a high standard of food presentation and excellent customer care skills. Possession of NVQ 2 in Catering or City and Guilds 706 / 2 in Catering qualification and a current Basic Hygiene certificate is desirable.
Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
