Job summary

A local sushi restaurant in Cannock is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Chef Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong culinary skills, lead a small team, and ensure high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Responsibilities include preparing fresh ingredients, maintaining safety standards, and leading by example in a fast-paced environment. An understanding of food safety regulations and the ability to work early shifts are essential. Full training will be provided for qualifications related to food safety.

Qualifications

  • Experience in leading a small team who can build confidence and capability.
  • Good understanding of Food Safety & Health and Safety regulations.
  • Reliable transportation for your commute to work early in the morning.

Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for the team in the Chef Manager's absence.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and food safety on site.
  • Prepare fresh ingredients by hand, including meat and raw fish products.

Mai Sushi arerecruiting Full Time Assistant Chef Manager to come and join our Mai sushi - Cannock Voyager Drive Cannock WS11 8XP. 12.66 - 13.66 depending on experience

  • A good understanding of Food Safety & Health and Safety regulations ability to follow brand standards and comply with company policies.

And are able to:
  • Be accountable forthe team in the Chef Managers absence whilst maintaining audit standards for food and health & safety compliance while meeting EHO expectations
  • Ensuring the team maintains a high standard of cleanliness and food safety on site to maintain a safe environment for our customers our clients and ourselves
  • Highly organised with a focus on forward planning
  • Prepare fresh ingredients by hand including meat and raw fish products each shift
  • Accurately labelling products ensuring lawful compliance around food safety and allergen compliance each shift.
  • Be a skilled multitasker
  • An early riser as shifts can start at 6am some days
  • Learn new skills or improve skills already mastered

Qualifications

Level 2 Food Safety certificate HACCP Allergens and COSHH are Desirable although not essential as full training will be provided.

Great organisational attention to detail and focus on Quality are must.
