Job Description
- Collection, validation, and preparation of procurement data
- Supply market research, analysis, and benchmarking activities
- Identification, engagement, and ongoing management of stakeholders
- Participation in and support of stakeholder engagement sessions
- Contribution to the development of tender specifications and requirements
- Preparation and drafting of ITTs and RFQs using approved standard templates
- Effective and efficient use of the WWU e-Procurement system throughout the tender process
- Post-tender evaluation, analysis, and reporting
- Support for and participation in supplier negotiations
- Contribution to the preparation of contract award recommendations and documentation
- Support for the implementation and onboarding of new suppliers and processes following contract award
The Successful Applicant
A successful Assistant Buyer should have:
- Degree-qualified and/or MCIPS-qualified procurement professional with broad, relevant experience and proven practical application
- Strong understanding of EU procurement regulations, contract processes, procedures, and recognised best practice
- High level of commercial awareness with the ability to apply sound business judgement
- Proven ability to build, manage, and maintain effective stakeholder and supplier relationships
- Proactive, focused self-starter who takes ownership and accountability for delivering against performance objectives
- Capable of working independently using own initiative, while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team
